Skiing is not right for everyone

Skiing is not right for everyone

I love to wakeboard and to water ski so I figured I would love to ski on the slopes. A couple of my friends are very avid skiers and decided to take me with them on a club med ski holiday to let me give it a try. One of my friends luckily wore the same size boots as I needed so she let me borrow all of her gear.

We got to the resort and I was so excited. We started immediately getting our things our of the car when I realized how cold it was. I told my friend Geese it is really cold. She said that it would feel better once we were all geared up. So we went in side and started unpacking. Once we were all unpacked we went ahead and decided to get dressed and go out for a bit. Now both of my friends are great skiers and knew how to ski when they met. I was kind of their experiment as they had never taught anyone how to ski. I get on all of my gear and we go. We get to the lift and I am immediately terrified. I hate heights. I had no idea that this was how we were going to get where we were going. They explained how safe it was and to give it a go. I could see everything from up there. It was both beautiful and terrifying. We get to the top and they explain to me everything that I need to do. I was on a beginner slope that thought that since I was skilled at water skiing that this would be a synch. It was not. I could not figure it out. I spent more time falling then standing. I realized that skiing was not my cup of tea but the spa was. I spent lots of time relaxing and enjoying myself. I’ll stick with water skiing for now on.
