The world is in a huge pickle. We exploit our planet, we drill for oil and we burn it like we will never run out of it. We pollute the atmosphere without carrying about tomorrow, without carrying about what we are going to leave our kids. I will tell you exactly what we are going to leave them, one poisoned, drained out Planet Earth and only one option, to turn to alternative methods of energy production. But why wait until it is too late, why wait until this is the only way out? I think that we need to act now. We have to switch to renewables as soon as possible; we need to start taking care of our Planet.

Yes, I know that this sounds harsh and most of you will probably laugh at me for saying what I am saying but frankly I don’t care. I don’t care because I know what people are like, it is obvious how the masses think, isn’t it. But I also know that some of you will actually think about this for a second, some may even decide to search for more information on the internet, or even find the local green peace or other environmental organisation’s office and offer their help. And all this effort is worth it, even if only one or two people do that, you know, every little bit helps. So here is how things are: we are running out of oil, we are running out of gas and most importantly we are running out of time. The environmental catastrophes are already in the news. Every day we hear about some oil spillage, brutal deforestation, or children deprived of drinking water simply because the local plant needs water for the production of ikea furniture or whatever. And even though many people are now aware of the problem and some companies are even trying to improve their energy efficiency and reduce their waste by using different methods and technologies, it is still not enough. Even those firms that are hiring professionals like enigin scam busters, who are supposed to ensure maximum efficiency is achieved, are still doing too little. And the worst thing is that some companies do it solely as a PR strategy.

The idea of using computer to perform creative services like illustration, writing or painting is not a new one. Makers of software applications have been experimenting with these solutions for quite some time now. However, most software applications failed because the makers failed to recognize the importance of intuitive and contextual understanding.

What can you understand when you see the phrase patient handling train the trainer? Well, you obviously add a few punctuation marks at the appropriate place in your mind and formulate a meaningful phrase here.

On the other hand, software applications in the past interpreted the information literally without the ability to insert even the basic punctuation marks as and when required. Of course, it is not possible for the computer to understand that certain punctuation marks will just not apply. This is a part of the intuitive understanding process of human beings.

So, what has changed? How is it that computers are being used to come up with such content? Well, we have a understood how the human mind works and are now in the process of duplicating the same in the virtual world. Instead of trying to replicate the human mind, we are trying to replicate the thought process of our activities and are finding more success.

Of course, those trying to make a computer perform creative activities will have the fantastic memory of the computer at their disposal. The computer will be in a position to remember each and every brush stroke made to come up with the best painting. With huge memory banks, it is just a question of having a really powerful computer analyze all possible combinations to come up with the right shades at the right spots for a good painting. This may just put all human artists and creative writers out of work.

I found it completely acceptable for certain esoteric activities and services like data quality services and data analysis services to be completely handled by computers. However, I find to my dismay that people are busy inventing software applications that will make the human writer obsolete. Considering the fact that I am trying to break into the world of writing to enhance my revenue stream, this is very bad news indeed.

Apparently, the makers of the software application wanted to find a solution to the delay in providing frequent updates to baseball games. They made use of software applications that would take the raw data presented and convert the same into a meaningful and sensible paragraph about the condition of the game. The big difference here was that the computer work at a fraction of the time taken by a human writer. The primary factor working in favor of the computer is that the quality of content is not significantly less as compared to the work done by an ordinary human being.

Of course, the writing industry is watching this new development with a lot of apprehension. On one hand, we have human writers who may simply go out of business. On the other hand, we have skeptics who point out that humans have been writing for the past thousands of years and would continue to do so. Well, it is probably difficult to say whether the human beings in the past had to compete against computers that would think and provide content in a span of a few seconds.

There will obviously be a clamor for stopping such services. The best writers will probably survive because of their writing skills. However, all those individuals who are ordinary writers and provide valuable but hidden ghostwriting services may find themselves out of business.

I have a bit of time on my hands at the moment, so I decided to combine my love of writing, with my illustration skills to make some functional comics. What is a functional comic? Well, the idea it to use comedy and humour to teach an important skill. These comics can be used in instruction manual, websites, or sold individually. I am busy at the moment making my first prototype.

There is a huge gap in the market where parents and kids can’t really communicate about the technology that they need to operate their game consoles. I want to do a six page spread that explains the difference between the r4 card and the r4i. It is pretty technical stuff, but the idea is that one of the characters is a gran who was raised during the war, the other is an eleven year old girl who is into computer programming. She really loves her gran and decides to draw her pictures.

I am personally not a gamer, but my nephew is and he has been helping me get started. If you get a complete computer wizard to explain it to you, it is simply too technical. The thing about a good illustrator is that they are able to find the metaphorical image that translates a complex idea, into something that is easily understood. The little girl in the comic is going to use a submarine, an air craft carrier and a bomb shelter to explain to her ageing nan exactly how games are stored on a card. Then, she is going to use the infamous Enigma machine to explain the all important aspects of the new technology. The Enigma machine turned messages into secret code and this easily translates today when people think about how certain game consoles only play certain games. It is vitally important for our little eleven year old hero. Her parents are very poor but honourable and they would never return or reject a birthday present. The little girl needs her nan to truly understand how a Nintendo ds works, so that she can choose an appropriate bit of technology and enter into the world of the child. I am going to go for the child like illustrations mixed with a bit of Captain America for narration. My regular publisher thinks its a great idea and I have some interest both from over 50’s magazines, so I am just going to get cracking.

So I may not be working your usually 9-5 job but I do think about my future and investments that can get me to where I need to be in the future, financially.

Like many other people I do want to visit an exotic location or stay in a Looe hotel and one way I can achieve this is through a Fixed Annuity I recently found out.

Now Tax-deferred fixed annuities, or fixed annuities as they are simply known as are the contracts that you and some insurance company go into to get a policy that bears a guaranteed interest. Fixed annuities have several advantages, some of which are given below.

One of the biggest advantages is that they are tax deferred so there is no need for the payment of taxes on earnings generated from it until you actually withdraw it or receive income from the annuity. In fact, there is the chance of earning additional interest on the savings generated which would have to be paid as taxes in normal circumstances.

The current interest rates offered on fixed annuities are quite competitive and give you the best value for your money.

The full backing of the fixed annuities'value by the insurance company’s assets makes it risk free. In addition to that, the insurance guaranteed fund of the state covers the annuity secondarily as well. Fixed annuities also give you a guarantee of a minimum interest rate.

For those on the verge of retirement or planning to retire shortly, a fixed annuity offer you the best option, as they are often considered the best retirement vehicles, since there are almost no downside.

Now then, here I am, about to break all the rules that shouldn’t be broken! Not really, but I am about to shed some light on a subject which I don’t think is mystical at all.

To begin with, get out of your mind that you can’t draw. Strictly speaking, illustration isn’t so much about drawing as it is about depicting a concept. You don’t need loads of skill and experience to do that – it can be done in just a few lines.

1) What do you want to do an illustration of? Whatever it is, make sure it’s stylised. No extra lines and nothing complex.

2) Now you have a subject, let’s look at the medium. Black fine-liner pens are ideal for creating a bold image, but may be tricky for you to handle if you are just starting out. Maybe start off with a pencil and see how you go?

3) It doesn’t matter if it’s a London plumbers logo or the Taj Mahal, you need to look at the general shape. Forget the details: once you have the general shape then you can work on filling it in.

4) Look at the negatives, like the space outside of the Taj Mahal, say, or the space outside of the windows. This will help create a balanced piece.

5) Last but not least, you’ll need practice and lots of new bits of paper to have a go on. Don’t expect it to be perfect right away and you have a much higher chance of succeeding, trust me.

Similar Posts:
Things You Can Do Other Than Drink : I have been on antibiotics…
The Future? : I’m in business, am well up with the latest…
Why Bristol is great : Everyone knows that Bristol is great,…

Writing is an odd one: like illustration, the people who do it can often be highly secretive…as though they belong to some ancient cult where everyone has to murder another just to get in. Then I come along, Mr-look-at-me-beginner-writer and all of a sudden heads start to turn the other way.

Now, maybe it’s just me, but I find this the wrong attitude. Okay, so I’m not a pro yet, but that doesn’t mean that if someone less experienced asked me a direct question I would avoid answering them. I personally think that there’s absolutely nothing wrong with passing on information to those around you.

There is another argument, of course, and one which I have been avoiding quite successfully so far. It is this: “I am an established writer and it took a long time and a lot of effort to get where I am today. Why should I pass all that onto a new writer?”

You see how tricky this conundrum is?

It’s hard.

But then again, maybe it isn’t hard. I used to work in Internet security and plenty of people asked me off the record about that. I never held anything back. I just always thought that it was so simple anyone could learn it online anyway.

I have a resolution: once I know a bit more – or a lot more – I will do my best to help out fellow writers. It may alienate me from the more established crowd, but at least I’ll be staying true to my roots and that’s the main thing.

Water is vital for our very existence, that is why all over the world people drink water from plastic water bottles.

The question we have to ask ourselves is that do we really help the environment when we use plastic water bottles? Did you know it is estimated that making plastic bottles require over one and a half million barrels of oil every year that is a whole lot compared to oil used for hairdresser supplies. Nine out of every ten of these bottles are not recycled. Not only is oil used to manufacture these bottles but it is also used in the transportation of these bottles. The amount of oil used becomes really significant when you consider that bottled water travels miles upon miles to reach various cities, states and even countries. I hope these facts will help you to realize the damage plastic water bottle can do to our planet.

So what can we use besides a plastic water bottle? We can use a water cooler. It can store a large amount of water; the coolers used by businesses will have a water filter as well. Water coolers can be directly connected to the main source of water. Filters get rid of bad odor, impurities, chlorine, limescale and foul taste.

You can find water coolers in different shapes and sizes. They are used at catering houses, restaurants, bars, and hotels. Water coolers will provide different types of function, some will give a single faucet, some may have two for hot and cold water and still some will have three faucets.

Water cooler of different sizes are available. A small water cooler can fit into narrow spaces, whereas a middle sized one can be used in offices and waiting rooms. There are even gigantic water coolers used for large crowds.

He recently attended one of those company mandated manual handling courses but lamented that they said very little about dealing with a sore ankle like the one he has.

Now sore ankles are very painful and are often accompanied by swelling. Excessive pain and swelling may prevent you from walking or turning your ankle in any direction. Sore ankles need to be treated with care. Here are a few tips of how to soothe a sore ankle.

· You will need to give it rest. You do not have to stop all your physical activities. You can just use crutches or someone for support while walking.

· You need to rest your sore ankle in an elevated position by placing it on cushions or pillows when you lie down.

· You should apply ice cubes to the ankle by wrapping them in a cloth. This will reduce the swelling.

· You must use a compression bag for supporting the ankle while in an unstable position.

· Heat application can also reduce the pain in your ankles.

· You can massage the ankle with your fingertips if there is no swelling.

· You should try to stretch your ankle after the pain has subsided. This would improve the joint’s flexibility and mobility.

· In case, the pain is not so severe, and you have no time to spare, you can at least avoid standing for hours at a time. </

Years ago, before I became a freelance, I was a student like you probably were. There was a pub about five minutes walk from the sixth-form college, and at lunch-times – or whenever we could in the summer, especially when it was baking – we’d head there for a drink or two, but mainly just to hang out in the Sun. One day, a guy started hanging out there too. All the girls we were with fancied him; not really because he was that good-looking, more because he exuded a strong independent charisma, sitting there on his own on his table working away feverishly on his A4 pad. Every now and again he’d look up and catch one of us talking about him and put his hand up. One day, four weeks or so after he’d started coming to the pub, one of our group, I don’t remember who, worked up the guts to go and ask him what he was doing. We all made bets: mine was not “work”.

Yet when this girl came back – can’t even remember what her name was now – she said he was a freelancer. A writer. This? His job. To sit and write and then later, transcribe everything to computer and send it in. I thought he was joking, and it was only years later that I realised that actually, that really was what he was doing.

The guy wasn’t the only thing which pointed me in freelance’s direction, but he certainly helped. I liked the look of the freedom he had access to. Passing your days in the Summer sitting there sipping wine seemed great to me.

Obviously it isn’t always great. One thing I never knew about was the loneliness you can sometimes feel. The fact that you can’t just play a strike solitaire card game in your lunch-break, because, generally speaking, you are the only employee of your company.

Still, I wouldn’t change how it is. Once you’ve started the freelance game, it’s hard to think of yourself following any other path.
